José Antonio is a Corporate and Regulatory Lawyer with more than 25 years of legal experience representing and advising domestic and foreign companies in matters related to mergers and acquisitions, offshore transactions, and regulatory matters, among others. He has led different private merger and acquisition projects (some of them highly complex as they involved more than 20 companies simultaneously). In addition, he has advised private companies in public tenders administered by ProInversion, in the sectors of Energy, Mining, Industry, Ports, Transportation, Land Titling, among others. He has been a collaborator in research studies carried out by the World Bank on electricity in Peru. Author of various articles for press media and legal journals related to Mining Law, Energy Law, Water Law, indigenous communities, and other current issues. Author of “Energy Law in Peru”, a 350-page book published in the Netherlands by Kluwer Law International in 2011. This book contains a broad and detailed description of the Peruvian regulatory framework for gas, oil, electricity, and mining, describing relevant environmental, tax, and labor provisions for this sector.
